Razor MX500 Dirt Rocket Electric Motocross Bike Review

Razor MX500 Dirt Rocket Electric Motocross Bike
Delivered in two days for the best price on the internet. Cant beat Amazon. Took about 30 minutes to finish assembly. Its mostly put together – just handlebars front wheel and a number plate. Goes for a long time on a charge. My 10 year old is having a blast on it in our very large backyard. So far its been durable after a few weeks of beatings…

The one thing i would say is that it could use a little more oomph off the line. I didnt realize the mx650 is the exact same size but with 30 percent more power for 50 bucks extra. they market it to 16 year olds. A 10 year old is just fine IMO. I think a 16 year old would want a bigger gas powered bike IMO.

Razor MX500 Dirt Rocket Electric Motocross Bike Overview

Essentially a scaled-down motocross bike with an electric motor, the Razor MX500 Dirt Rocket is ideal for teens who want to enjoy the dirt bike experience without breaking the bank. The Dirt Rocket’s powerful 500-watt motor carries riders at speeds of up to 17 miles per hour–more than enough for most bumpy dirt trails–and can cruise for up to 10 miles on a single charge. At the same time, the bike’s dual suspension and riser handlebars deliver a smooth and comfortable ride regardless of the terrain, so your teen’s fun isn’t restricted to flat pavement. As a final bonus, the Dirt Rocket’s variable-speed, chain-driven motor is extremely quiet, a marked contrast to traditional gas-powered motocross bikes.

Other details include large pneumatic knobby tires for a maximum power transfer, authentic dirt bike frame geometry, a retractable kickstand, and a double-crown fork. The MX500, which requires roughly eight hours to fully charge, is recommended for ages 14 and over and offers a maximum weight limit of 175 pounds. It’s also backed by a 90-day warranty.

Razor MX500 Dirt Rocket Electric Motocross Bike Specifications

Awesome Christmas Gift! – Central Coast, RC – California
We purchased the MX500 last Christmas for our 7 year old son and it was a hit! 1 year later, still runs like new with the exception of the rear wheel which we recently replaced due to a cracked axle. Not an unreasonable repair considering how hard my son is on the bike, the rear wheel assembly is inexpensive and easy to swap out! If your considering the MX 500 for your son or daughter this Christmas do it, the bike will not dissapoint! Caution, all the neighbor kids will want to ride it too….

WE HAD GOTTEN THE MX350 FOR OUR 7 AND 9 YR OLDS, BASED ON MANUFACTURER’S SUGGESTION.
WE FOUND THAT IT WAS TOO SMALL AND AFTER DOING FURTHER RESEARCH, DECIDED TO GET THE MX500. IT WAS THE PERFECT SIZE. THE PRODUCT CAME IN 3 DAYS AND IT WAS EASY TO COMPLETE THE ASSEMBLY. VERY HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT SO FAR, AND THE SERVICE PROVIDED.

good starter – John Massarelli –
Pretty solid, good pickup, easy to ride. I’d say this is better for ages 8-13 though, since after that the older kids would want more power of gas powered bike.
